Common Man Coffee Roasters: Chin Swee Neighbourhood

Common Man Coffee Roasters has been building community the right way since 2013, and this July the beloved local roaster takes things up several notches. The Chin Swee Neighbourhood Club (CSNC) returns for its fourth edition, transforming from a single weekend gathering into a sprawling month-long social circuit that unfolds across four weekends and three CMCR spaces — from 11 July to 2 August 2026. What started as a humble meetup for good coffee and curious minds has quietly become one of Singapore’s annual calendar anchors, the kind of event locals mark in their diaries before tickets sell out.
The headline moment lands on the final weekend. On 1 and 2 August, the Common Man Coffee Roasters Barista Academy at Chin Swee Road hosts the CSNC 4.0 Block Party — a showcase of Singapore’s independent creative scene brought together under one roof. KEENWAY Pizza, PÖONSTI, Schmear Campaign, Plook Plook, Frm,Ytd and more will be serving up their best alongside community-led experiences like wine and food pairings with Chip Wine Club, lampshade-making with Issho Labo, and hands-on coffee workshops. The weekend also marks the debut of CMCR’s first new coffee beans in over a decade — Daily Driver and Easy Rider — a milestone release for a roastery that has long set the benchmark for specialty coffee in the city. Exclusive sign-up offers for Barista Academy classes will be available throughout the event.
But the block party is just the crescendo of a circuit worth exploring in full. It opens on 11 July with a neighbourhood quiz night at Joo Chiat — five rounds of trivia (O-level throwbacks, 2000s music, local nostalgia) paired with CMCR’s Asian Flavour Menu and free-flow natural wines, $35++ per person. The second weekend swaps brainpower for beats, with DJs Mako, Pinchen and Sugar & Spice spinning 2000s throwbacks over Korean fried chicken by BOKK. Then on 25 and 26 July, Alexandra goes pet-friendly for Furkids Brunch Club — bring your dog, browse independent pet brands like Mini Pawtisserie and Pawff SG, and pick up a limited-edition CSNC bandana designed with Woshitucks.
